The Rose Room, Reconsidered

Writing this from the New York Public Library — the Rose Main Reading Room — at 3:32 in the afternoon. And between the slow internet, the overheated air, and having just climbed stairs after a 20-minute walk through the city… this place is no longer feeling like a great spot to actually get work done today. I think I romanticized it. The idea of working here is better than the reality right now.

It's not too late to head back to the hotel and just work from the cold room. Maybe take advantage of the gym while I'm at it. Yeah, I think that's the move.

This morning the room was too cold again, so I ended up sleeping for a while. Jordan had already left for work by then. I don't think he slept last night — I hope he gets to rest more today. I keep thinking about that.

One more note to self before I head out: no more bubble tea if you're just going to get it alone, especially in the U.S. In Taiwan, yes — it's so much cheaper there. But here in the States, just wait until you're having it with Jordan. It's expensive, it's not that healthy anyway, and it's better as a shared thing.

Okay. Heading back.
