About

Torres del Paine, Patagonia — one of those places that changes how you see things.
I was raised in Taipei and currently based in the Bay Area — somewhere between two worlds, still figuring out what that means.
I work in tech, but this site has nothing to do with that. IMSUNLIT is a space I built for myself — to think more clearly, to track how I'm changing, and to write honestly about the parts of life that don't fit anywhere else.
I care about depth over surface, questions over answers, and the slow kind of growth that's hard to see until you look back. I'm drawn to philosophy, long hikes, good conversations, and the feeling of finally understanding something you've been circling for a while.
This isn't a finished portrait — it's more like an ongoing sketch. The writing here is honest but imperfect. Some of it will age badly. That's fine. The point isn't to be right, it's to be real.
The name
This site began as Timmotional — a place to process and feel. It grew into Sunlit Tim — a version of me I was trying to become. And eventually, it became I'm Sunlit. (Yes, it's just “I'm” moved from the back to the front. Yes, that took three site names to figure out.) Not a project, but a statement. A reminder that this isn't about documenting who I am, but choosing how I show up — open, present, and in the light.

English is my second language, and I use AI — mostly Claude and ChatGPT — to help me write more clearly and present my thoughts better. The ideas, feelings, and experiences here are entirely mine. But sometimes I need help finding the right words for them, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'd rather be honest about it than pretend I write perfectly in my second language.
