Redwoods and Goodbyes

Easter Sunday. We went to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park with Stela and her boyfriend Jerry. But first — brunch at this very expensive but beautiful spot in Los Gatos. It was packed because, you know, Easter Sunday brunch, but we somehow got a table upstairs and it was really lovely 🌿.

The food was pricey but that's because it was genuinely good, and Stela being Stela ordered a LOT, so we all ate a lot 😂. Octopus, bone marrow, lobster, a really good burger that Jordan loved, ribs, some panini-type thing, among other things. A feast.

The redwoods were great as always. Jordan and I have been there a few times now — it's always nice to walk among trees that are hundreds to thousands of years old 🌲. The height of them, the sheer scale — it just feels insane, and calming at the same time.

But the most important thing was probably Stela's boyfriend Jerry meeting Jordan lol. They connected on shared interests really well — robotics, aerospace, 3D printing, technology... just a lot of overlap 😂. The INTJ-ENTP connection at work. Even Jordan thought Jerry might be on the autism spectrum lol.

Later I got a headache. Maybe it was the heat, maybe all the frantic movement from the morning trying to clean my car before meeting friends (thanks to Jordan helping me wash it and buying washer fluid, it got done faster), maybe I just ate too much. Either way it was the kind of headache where napping felt like the only way out. So I napped for two hours before Jordan woke me up to grab pizzas from Pizza My Heart 🍕.

We chilled at his place for a few more hours before I drove him to the airport — he's heading to New York this week. We left way too early though, his flight wasn't until 5 AM, and the airport didn't even open until 3:35 AM 💀. So I turned back, picked him up, and we went to IHOP. Got the most expensive IHOP breakfast I've ever had — $55, though that's still a quarter of what we spent at brunch lol. Thankfully Jordan's company covers all this.

Brought him back to the airport and went home for sleep. I'll miss him this week.
