Two Languages
Today was mostly more work — the College Life app, and the historical-figures MBTI project. Chipping away at both.
Earlier in the day Jordan and I met up with his mom, who brought the dog Bear over, and we all went to the farmer's market and grabbed Greek food for lunch after. Then I did some work at Jordan's place and took Bear out for a quick walk before heading out to visit my mom.
The whole time there was the running drama from Jordan's mom, Randee — her daughters, and her daughter's father-in-law getting into trouble for not leashing the dog, and how she needs to take care of her grandchildren more often now, all of it. Interesting to listen to, in that way other people's family tangles always are.
Then I went to see my mom at the other place. She'd finally decided which renter to go with — everything's good. There were two great candidates, and the other one ended up leaving to do a different rental, since my mom had been weighing the two of them for a while. She was talking late into the evening without having eaten anything, so I cooked her some of the spicy Sichuan noodles I picked up the other day at T&T, plus some dumplings.
But yeah, overall a chill day. I felt more calm and at peace and real today, for some reason. I think the Chinese songs helped — it's something only I can really do around here, listening to and speaking two languages, being able to feel and react in both.
