First Few Pages
I spent today clearing out all the stuff left over from my college and high school days, and I realized I'd kept a lot of notes and notebooks — years of them. The funny thing is how many I only ever wrote the first few pages of and then abandoned, especially the fantasy-based projects. A few had content back to back, all the way through, but only a few.
What did stick, apparently, was the journaling. I've kept daily journals since I was young, and I'm still at it now, into adulthood, even with all the broken streaks. Maybe that's the one form that actually held — maybe it's just a good way for me to settle and understand my emotions.
Reading some of these old diaries felt like windows into the past. Sophomore trips, the Buenos Aires adventures, even some high school notes — though back then I kept those on some other service, Wix, was it? Not even sure they're still up. Maybe I should go looking for them one day and do a little emotional archeology. Yeah. Maybe.
